Summer Goal

I just want to say that my goal this summer is to PLAY WITH MY KIDS!! My mother gave me some very good advice last week. She said, "you'll have plenty of time to clean your house when your kids are older." Since then, I've decided I'm letting go of the cleaning. I'll do my monthly cleaning of the bathrooms and hopefully Drummer Boy will continue to vacuum the hardwoods every 2-3 weeks, but as far as dusting and windows and details like that, I'm letting it go. I'll get to it when I get to it. Right now, this summer, the important thing is that I play with my girls.

I feel like I have limited time left with Princess. She's starting kindergarten in 3 months! And kindergarten here is full day, 5 days a week! Starting in the fall, I'm only going to really see her on the weekends. And that starts the next 13 years of her life!! I know, this is a little dramatic. But I'm realizing that this summer is really a great opportunity for me to get down and dirty with the girls. I'm not working. I'm not volunteering for anything. I'm not leading any bible studies or on any committees. So that means I have plenty of time to play, and that is what I intend to do! Now, I just need everyone reading this blog to keep me accountable.
